Types of Signage Décor You Can Have at Your Wedding

March 8, 2017 – Signs, signs, everywhere a sign. Even though they aren’t exactly the most beautiful of wedding décor, they’re a necessary part of any wedding and reception. Plus, they can be easily crafted to match your overall design and color scheme, minimizing the amount they disrupt from your decorations while still being highly useful throughout the proceedings.

Signage Décor

Here are just a few ways you can utilize signs to improve your guests’ experience, or just improve people’s ability to move around the various events and activities you have.

Types of Signs You Can Incorporate into Your Wedding

Welcome Sign

It’s always a good idea to start off a wedding with a personal touch. A nice welcome sign with a personal message from the bride and groom is a great way to welcome your guests to the festivities and thank them for being there – particularly if you don’t think you’ll be able to greet everyone in person at the door.

Table Seating Sign

If you’re going to have assigned seating at your dinner tables, a table seating sign isn’t just useful – it’s practically a necessity. Otherwise, you’re going to have people wandering around for ages trying to find their seat. Depending on the size of your reception, you’ve got two basic options here. You could have several smaller signs, one per table, showing the layout. Or, you could have a single large bulletin-style sign that covers the full seating arrangement in one place. If you’re going to do this, it’s a good idea to elevate it so it’s easily seen by a large number of people at once.

Menu Sign

This is pretty obvious, and it’s a nice touch for any wedding – plus it helps emphasize how much care and planning you’ve put into the wedding. Menu signs can be very decorative as well, made up to look like five-star restaurant menus. A central placement helps here, drawing attention to the meal to come and getting people excited about dinner.

Order of Events Sign

Are you planning to have a lot of different activities at your reception or wedding, beyond the standard features? An order of events sign can be a big help in coordinating everything. It should list approximate times as well as locations, so that guests wandering around the venue will always know where they’re supposed to be at any given time.

Social Media & Picture Signs

Don’t forget about giving your guests plenty of opportunities for pictures and selfies! It’s now easy and affordable to create custom stand-up or cut-out signs with any design you like. Make classic full-size recreations of yourselves to pose next to, graphics or illustrations relating to the wedding, or anything else you can dream up.

If you really want to get high tech, incorporate a QR code in the corner which directs to your wedding website or Instagram, so it’ll appear in all photos taken.
